Professor Ali Hassan Gemeay from Tanta University at UCT Prague
Professor Ali Hassan Gemeay from Tanta University visited our university to support cooperation between Tanta University, Egypt and UCT Prague. He participated in scientific discussions, meetings, and laboratory experiments of the Molecular Electronics and Smart Materials research group at the Department of Mathematics, Informatics and Cybernetics. He also visited Department of Physical Chemistry, UCT Prague and J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of Czech Academy of Sciences Nanocatalysis lab.

(28. 5. – 29. 7. 2023) Three students from EJUST, Mostafa Wahba, Nayera Fayez and Aya Khalifa, arrived for internship at UCT Prague. They are working in different fields of material chemistry and electronics. Their topic are devoted to „Development of conducting polymer-based drug delivery systems“, Deposition of conducting polymer on metal organic frameworks for high performance hybrid supercapacitor“, „Protective shields for autonomous systems against electromagnetic interference“.
Egyptian scientists from EJUST visited the Czech Republic
(24. 4. – 7. 5. 2023) Professors Mohamed Ayad and Sameh Nada visited the Czech Republic as part of our joint project. The destination of their trip was UCT Prague, where they participated in a number of activities, classes and joint meetings. They visited the student laboratories of physical chemistry and analytical chemistry, the research laboratories of the Molecular Electronics and Smart Materials Group. Our guests were also welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, professor Michal Pribyl. A cultural programme was also prepared for both professors, during which they experienced the beauty of Prague.
Czech scientists from UCT Prague visited Egypt
(7. 3. – 20. 3. 2023) The first group of Czech scientists travelled to Egypt to the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology and Tanta University. During this internship, organizational, scientific and educational lectures took place, the scientists met with the staff and management of the universities and visited selected research and teaching laboratories. The internship also included several meetings with students who expressed interest in the project and the opportunity to travel to the Czech Republic for the internship. The Egyptian colleagues showed exceptional hospitality and organised an excellent cultural programme.
The first student exchange
(28.08.2022 – 30.10.2022) After a long pause caused by the Covid pandemic, the project was restarted. VŠCHT Prague welcomed the first PhD student from Tanta University, Mohamed El-halwagy. Mohamed is researching Difunctional Graphene-Fe3O4 Hybrid Nanosheets for water purification under the supervision of associate professor Fatima Hassouna. For Mohamed, this internship is his first trip outside of Egypt and he uses his free time to visit sites in the Czech Republic. One of them was a visit to Braun’s Bethlehem near Dvůr Králové nad Labem.
